Catherine D. Baker, 92

CHESHIRE, Mass. — Mrs. Catherine Doris (Scott) Baker, 92, formerly of Cheshire, died peacefully Sunday morning, November 5, 2017, at Our Lady of Mercy Nursing Center in Guilderland, N.Y. 

She was born in Belfast, Northern Ireland, on June 12, 1925, a daughter of David and Catherine (Rush) Scott. She attended schools in Ireland, and came to this country while in her 20's. 

Mrs. Baker was a homemaker most all of her life, but had worked as a manager at Gorton's Department Store in Belfast while still living there. She was an active member of the First Congregational Church of Adams, where she served on many committees, and was also a member of its Choir and of the King's Daughters. 

Her husband, Robert T. Baker, whom she married on June 18, 1949, died on August 2, 2009. 

She is survived by her daughter, Debra B. Kellogg of Menands, N.Y.; her son, Robert S. Baker and his wife, Linda, of Adams;  two grandsons, Joshua and Dakota Baker, both of Adams; a brother, Brian Scott of Avon, Conn.; two sisters, Penny Arnold and Hazel Garofano and her husband, Ernie, both of Naples, Fla.; her beloved grand-dog, Shamus; as well as several nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. 

She was predeceased by her son-in-law, Michael Kellogg; a brother, David Scott, Jr. and by a sister, Bertha Uscowskas. 

Funeral notice: Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, Nov. 14, 2017, at 1 p.m. in the First Congregational Church, 42 Park St. Adams. Rev. Michael Mullany, Pastor, will officiate. Burial will follow in Bellevue Cemetery, Adams. 

Calling hours at the Paciorek Funeral Home, 13 Hoosac St. Adams, will be Tuesday from 11:30 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. Memorial donations may be made to the First Congregational Church, 42 Park St. Adams, MA 01220, or to the Alzheimer's Association, 309 Waverley Oaks Road, Waltham, MA 02452.
