Celia V. Danecki, 93

ADAMS, Mass. — Mrs. Celia V. (Dabrowski) Danecki, 93, of Adams died Tuesday afternoon, November 7, 2017, at North Adams Commons.

She was born in Adams on August 20, 1924, a daughter of the late Joseph and Honorata (Ciejka) Dabrowski, and attended Adams schools. Ceil was a homemaker most of her life, but had worked at the former Berkshire Fine Spinning Co. in Adams for several years until the mill closed in 1957.

She was a communicant of St. Stanislaus Kostka Church, Adams, and was a member of the Adams Senior Citizens where she served as secretary and treasurer and was on the refreshment and games committee. She had also been a member of the Western Mass Athletic Club, having served food to runners after trail races.

Her husband, Chester J. Danecki, whom she married on May 13, 1946, died on October 16, 2008.

She is survived by a daughter, Dorothy Staiti and her husband, Joseph, of Danbury, Conn.; two sons, William Danecki of New Milford, Conn., and Daniel Danecki and his wife, Barbara, of Tewksbury, Mass.; four grandchildren, including Mark Staiti and his wife, Emily, William Danecki Jr., Carolyn Wisnowski and her husband, Brian, and Matthew Danecki; three great-grandchildren, including Ava Staiti and Charlotte and Myles Wisnowski; a sister, Janet Wilk and her husband, Edward, of Adams; as well as many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.

She was predeceased by three brothers, Walter, Stephen and John Dabrowski; and by two sisters, Phyllis Blazejewski and Helen Szufnarowski.

Funeral notice: The funeral will be held on Friday, Nov. 10, 2017, at 9 a.m. from the Paciorek Funeral Home, 13 Hoosac St. Adams, followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10 a.m.in St. Stanislaus Kostka Church. Burial will follow in St. Stanislaus Kostka Cemetery, Adams.
