Oliver M. Rondeau Jr., 69
CLARKSBURG, Mass. — Oliver Murry Rondeau Jr., 69, of Clarksburg, Mass., died on Monday, November 13, 2017, at Williamstown Commons in Williamstown, Mass.
He was born in North Adams, Mass., on June 21, 1948, a son to the late Oliver M. Rondeau and Doria (Charron) Rondeau. He received early education in North Adams Public Schools and left school after the death of his father to seek employment.
Oliver worked predominately in the logging and forestry industry, where he owned and operated Oliver Rondeau Logging during the 1970s and 1980s with his former wife, Elma Rondeau. He enjoyed fishing, especially bullhead fishing. He passed this tradition down to his two sons. He also enjoyed old style country music, especially Hank Williams. He loved family and making Sunday visits to aunts, uncles and cousins. He was especially proud of his grandchildren.
Oliver leaves two sons, Oliver of North Adams and Reginald and his wife Pam of North Adams; his grandchildren, Reginald Rondeau Jr., Layla Rondeau and triplets Luke-Oliver, Abigail and Jasmine Rondeau; as well as stepgrandchildren, Maddison and Kiersten; a brother, Anthony Rondeau of Northampton, Mass.; a sister, Paulette Galiese and her husband, Jack, of Florida; four stepdaughters, Rita Bolognani, Cindy Dix, Theresa Senecal and Tara Barboza; several stepgrandchildren; his primary caregiver and friend, Emaline Goddard; as well as several aunts, uncles and cousins.
Funeral notice: A graveside service to celebrate the life of Oliver Murry Rondeau Jr. will take place at Southview Cemetery on Monday, November 20, 2017, at 2 p.m. A celebration will follow at the North Adams American Legion.
