Arleen O'Connor, 74

NORTH ADAMS, Mass. — Arleen O'Connor, 74, of North Adams, Mass., died Tuesday, December 5, 2017, at North Adams Commons.

She was born in North Adams, Mass., on April 14, 1943, daughter of the late Albert and Shirley (Busby) O'Connor. She attended local schools and graduated from the Drury High School.

Arleen was first employed at the former North Adams Transcript. She then worked at Sprague Electric Co. for many years and also worked at the Visiting Nurse Association. She was last employed by the Berkshire Community Action Council. Arleen was a member of the board of directors for the North Adams Little League and the Landmark Credit Union.

Survivors include two sisters, Sharon Montanaro of Warwick, R.I., and Maureen Catelotti of North Adams; and one brother, Thomas O'Connor of North Adams. She also leaves nieces and nephews, including Derek Catelotti, Colleen Sklar, Heather Montanaro, and Corinne Montanaro; and grandnieces and a grandnephew, including Emma Sklar, Ava Catelotti and Vincent Catelotti.  

Funeral notice: The funeral for Arleen O'Connor will be Friday, December 8, 2017, at 11 a.m. at Flynn & Dagnoli-Montagna Home for Funerals, Central Chapel, 74 Marshall St., North Adams, Mass. Burial will follow in Southview Cemetery.  

Calling hours at the funeral home are Thursday, December 7, 2017, from 5-7 p.m. Memorial donations may be made to the Jimmy Fund in care of the funeral home.

Dear Maureen and family, John and I are very sorry for your loss of your sister, Arlene . I know its been a long journey for you and her and I hope peace comes for you all. Know that you’ve always been there for her and she is now in a better place.. losing a sister is difficult.. time will help to remember the good days..
