Jeannette V. Sworzen, 86

ADAMS, Mass. — Mrs. Jeannette V. (Ziemba) Sworzen, 86, of Adams, died Wednesday evening, January 10, 2018, at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield.

She was born in Adams on August 4, 1931, a daughter of the late Stanley and Veronica (Pytko) Ziemba, and attended Adams schools. Jeannette last worked as a seamstress for Aladco in Adams for over 20 years, until retiring. Earlier, she had worked at the former Sprague Electric Co. in North Adams.

She was a communicant of the Parish of St. John Paul II at St. Stanislaus Kostka Church, Adams. She enjoyed sewing, cooking and playing bingo.

Her husband, Theodore S. Sworzen, whom she married on May 9, 1953, died on December 22, 1982.

She is survived by a son, Joseph Sworzen and his wife, Stephanie, of Adams; three daughters, Barbara Dow and her husband, Robert, of Adams, Kathryn Sworzen and Daniel Kmon of Dalton, and Janice Brown and her husband, David, of Adams; seven grandchildren, including Barb Desroches and her husband, Jay, Sara Sworzen and her fiance, Mike Bresett, Joshua Sworzen and Stephanie Whitney, Nathan Brown and Liz Ziter, Lauren Brown, Nicholas Kmon and Katelyn Kmon; three great-grandchildren, Alexis Desroches, Cole Desrochers and Rayah Bresett; three brothers, Eugene Ziemba and Victor Ziemba, both of Adams, and John Ziemba of Savoy; one sister, Suzanne Norton of Webster, N.Y.; as well as many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.

She was predeceased by a brother, Stanley Ziemba; and by four sisters, Bertha Brandley, Shirley Goff, Alice Rosenburg and Patricia Butterfield.

Funeral notice: The funeral will be held on Monday, January 15, 2018, at 9 a.m. from the Paciorek Funeral Home, 13 Hoosac St. Adams, followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Stanislaus Kostka Church, Adams, celebrated by Rev. Steven Montesanti, Pastor. Burial will follow in St. Stanislaus Cemetery, Adams.

Calling hours are Sunday, January 14, 2018, from 2 to 5 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made to Pop Cares, PO Box 482, Williamstown, MA 01267.
