Helen J. Morin, 88
ADAMS, Mass. — Mrs. Helen J. (Tomkowicz) Morin, 88, of Adams, died on Tuesday, January 9, 2018, at her home.
She was born in Adams on February 20, 1929, daughter of the late Andrew and Josephine (Zajac) Tomkowicz. She attended schools in Adams and graduated from the former Adams High School. Helen was primarily a homemaker but had worked for the former Adams Cooperative Bakery, and as a teacher's aide at the former Howland Avenue School, Adams.
She was a communicant of the Parish of St. John Paul II at St. Stanislaus Kostka Church, Adams. She was a life member of the Adams Turners, where she enjoyed bowling and playing volleyball. She enjoyed riding her bike and walking around town. She also liked cheating at cards.
Her husband of 41 years, Nave M. Morin, whom she married on August 19, 1950, died on December 17, 1991.
She is survived by three sons, Michael Morin and his wife Jeanne of Holyoke, Thomas Morin and his wife Nancy of Richmond, Va., and David Morin and his significant other Fran of Adams; one daughter, Patricia Morin Labendz of North Adams; one brother, Henry Tomkowicz and his wife Norma of Adams; nine grandchildren, Kerry (fiance Justin), Luke (Nyci), Kate (Mark), Matthew (Amy), Maria (Michael), Madison (David), Alexa, Jenna and Kayleigh; 11 great-grandchildren, Niyana, Allison, Yom, Elias, Jennifer, Daniel, Mya, Madelyn, Alexander, Londyn and Usha; her loyal and longtime companion Herbert Martin of Adams; and many nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank all of the wonderful caregivers who took care of Helen over the years and made it possible for her to stay in her own home.
