Lonnie Bishop, 68
FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. — The family of Lonnie Bishop regrets to announce the death of their brother, husband, father and grandfather. Lonnie died on Thursday, January 11, 2018, at the Holy Cross Hospital in Fort Lauderdale.
Lonnie was born on July 25, 1949, in Haverhill, N.H. He was the son of the late Herman Bishop and Beatrice (Hyland) McAndrews and stepson of the late Owen McAndrews.
Lonnie is survived by his wife, Chae; and daughters Lisa Bishop (husband-Dee) and Loni Bishop and grandson Jaedon. He is also survived by his brother, retired Adams Police Chief Herman Bishop (Kathy); and his sister, Susan Bishop of Adams.
He was predeceased by his sister, Mary (Bishop) Bushika of Savoy.
Lonnie retired as vice president of American Cutting and Drilling of Pompano Beach, Fla. Lonnie succumbed to the effects of Agent Orange as a result of a combat tour in Vietnam and two tours of duty on the DMZ in Korea. He was honorably discharged from the US Army with rank of Specialist 5, (E-5).
He had lived in the Fort Lauderdale area since 1973.
Funeral notice: Lonnie will be buried with full military honors in the National Cemetery in Lake Worth, Florida.
