Florence S. Kordana, 90
ADAMS, Mass. — Mrs. Florence Stephanie (Baran) Kordana, 90, of Adams passed away on Friday, January 12, 2018 at Williamstown Commons.
She was born on February 25, 1927, in Adams, daughter of the late Stephanie (Milos) and Walter Baran, and attended Adams schools. She was predeceased by a brother, Walter Baran, and a sister, Frances Therrien.
Florence married the late Theodore Kordana on May 5, 1945, and they spent 56 years together. Mr. Kordana died on September 4, 2001.
As a young woman, she worked in Berkshire Fine Spinning, Waverly Fabrics and Novtex Factory Outlet. Florence was an accomplished seamstress and cook, and her family loved her pierogies. She enjoyed her family, traveling, lobsters in Maine and a Manhattan straight up. Her specialty was Swedish weaving, and she taught many ladies the technique.
She was a communicant of St. Stanislaus Kostka Church, Adams.
Flo leaves her two daughters, Christine (Michael) Davine and Marie (Dan) Maloney, both of Adams; her brother, Francis Melillo; her sister, Bernadette Kordana; five grandchildren, Jon (Loren) Davine, Shanna (Ray) Marzilli, Michael (Debbie) Davine, Daniel (Katarina) Maloney and Amanda (Jason) Viens; six great-grandchildren, Leah, Francesca and Rachel Marzilli, Ryder Maloney, and Drew and Zachary Davine; and several nieces and nephews.
Her daughters would like to thank the staff of Williamstown Commons for their fine care of Florence.
Funeral notice: Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, January 16, 2018, at 11:30 a.m. from the Paciorek Funeral Home, 13 Hoosac St., Adams, followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at noon in St. Stanislaus Kostka Church, Adams, celebrated by Rev. Steven Montesanti, Pastor.
Burial will follow in St. Stanislaus Kostka Cemetery, Adams. Calling hours will be Tuesday morning from 9 to 11:30 a.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to St. Stanislaus Church, PO Box 231, Adams, MA 01220.
