Doris R. Lemaire, 90

NORTH ADAMS, Mass. — Doris Ruth (Colt) Lemaire, 90, of North Adams, Mass., died Sunday, January 14, 2018, at North Adams Commons.

She was born in North Adams, Mass., on March 16, 1927 daughter of Edward and Violet Colt. She attended North Adams schools and graduated from the St. Joseph's High School.

Doris was primarily a homemaker and was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She was a communicant of the former St. Francis of Assisi Church.

She was the widow of Raymond Leo Lemaire Sr., who died on January 29, 1994. They were married on October 7, 1950.

Survivors include three daughters, Cheryl Avina of San Diego, Calif., Jane Borden of Bennington, Vt., and Mary Bushee of Adams; two sons, Raymond L. Lemaire Jr. of Tyler, Texas, and David F. Lemaire of North Adams; 14 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; one sister, Sandra Saeugling of Dewey, Ariz.; and nieces and nephews.

Two brothers are deceased, including Robert Colt and Donald Colt. Two grandsons and one great-grandson are deceased, including Kenny Thompson, Benjamin Allen and Ian Lemaire.

Funeral notice: The funeral for Doris Lemaire will be Thursday, January 18, 2018, at 11 a.m. at Flynn & Dagnoli-Montagna Home for Funerals, 521 West Main St., North Adams, Mass. Burial will follow in Southview Cemetery.

A calling hour at the funeral home will be Thursday morning from 10 to 11 a.m. Donations may be made in her memory to the funeral home.
