Harold E. Heath Sr., 93

LEE, Mass. - Harold E. Heath Sr., 93, formerly of Forest Street in Lee, died Saturday, February 10, 2018, at Hillcrest Commons in Pittsfield. 

He was born in Lee on July 12, 1924, the son of Alton and Fran Brazee Heath. He attended Lee schools. Mr. Heath served in the U.S. Navy during WW II in both Theaters, serving aboard the USS Tulagi and the USS Massachusetts. He later worked for Flynn’s Tree Service and then Cheyne’s Farm delivering milk. From the late 1940s he was employed at the Mountain Mill division of the Westfield Paper Company in Lee he retired from there in 1989.

On May 27, 1946, he married the former Yvonne P. Kickery; she died on September 1, 2008. 

Harold is survived by four sons, William R. Heath and his wife Gertie of Palatka, Fla., Harold E. Heath Jr. of Lee, Richard A. Heath Sr. and his wife Mary Terese of Blossvale, N.Y., and Charles E. Heath and his wife Marilyn of Becket, Mass.; three daughters, Diane P. Roosa and her husband Ralph of Lee, Terry L. Woods and her husband Robert of Surprise, Ariz., and Susan A. DiGrigoli and her husband Michael of Pittsfield, Mass.; two sisters, Mabel Sheridan and her husband Richard of Monterey, Mass., and Pauline Johndrow of Lee, Mass.; 17 grandchildren; and 26 great-grandchildren. 

He is also predeceased by a son, Robert C. Heath.

Funeral notice: A memorial service for Harold Heath Sr. will be held on Tuesday morning, February 20, 2018, at 11 a.m. at the Kelly Funeral Home in Lee with the Rev. Janet McKinstry, Pastor of the Tyringham Union Church, officiating. Burial will follow in Fairmount Cemetery.
