Stanley S. Sweet Jr., 59

NORTH ADAMS, Mass. — Stanley Sherwood Sweet Jr., 59, of North Adams, Mass., died peacefully on Monday, March 12, 2018, at his home. 

He was born in Brattleboro, Vt., on October 27, 1958, a son of the late Stanley Sherwood and Joan Marie (Darling) Sweet. Stanley was raised in South Williamstown and graduated from Mt. Greylock High School with the class of 1976. He was employed at various restaurants including Bounti Fare and Taconic Golf Club. He was also employed for the last 20 years as a foreman with Neil Segala Construction. 

Stanley was an avid golfer who prided himself in having 12 holes in one. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. He especially enjoyed spending time at the Arnold Camp in Stamford, Vt.

Survivors include his wife, Holly (Kittler) Sweet, whom he married on February 24, 2018; a daughter, Sarah J. Sweet; two sons, Matthew D. Sweet and his wife Cailin, and Cameron A. Sweet; two grandchildren, Henry C. Sweet and Maxon Johnson-Sweet; four brothers, John Sweet, James “Jamie” Sweet, Robert Richardson and Michael Sweet; two sisters, Victoria and Nancy Sweet; five step-children, Amber Blasi, Ashley Kitchen-Sweet, Brian Kittler, Jeannette Lambert and Duane Congleton; and his step-grandchildren, Ivy and Lily Blasi and Jacinda Febus. 

Mr. Sweet was predeceased by three brothers, David, Timothy and Arthur Sweet; and a sister, Lisa Ann Sweet.

Funeral notice: A Memorial Service to celebrate the life of Stanley Sweet will be held on Friday, March 16, at 6:30 p.m. at the Flynn and Dagnoli-Montagna Home for Funerals, West Chapel, 521 West Main Street, North Adams, Mass. 

Calling hours will take place Friday, March 16, 2018, from 4 to 6:30 p.m. at the Flynn and Dagnoli-Montagna Home for Funerals Home. Memorial donations may be made to the North Adams Ambulance.
