Chelsea J. Hurley, 21

BECKET, Mass. — Chelsea Jennifer Hurley, 21, died Sunday, April 8, 2018, due to injuries suffered in an automobile accident.

Born in Great Barrington on May 16, 1996, the daughter of John J. Hurley III and Angel Davis of Becket, she attended Lee schools and was a 2014 graduate of Lee High School. Chelsea had attended Keene (N.H.) State College, where she majored in Graphic Design. She was employed by Country Curtains in the Returns Department for two years and after their closing worked at 51 Park Restaurant, both in Lee, and also assisted her mom in her catering business.

Chelsea was a talented artist and enjoyed art and drawing.  She was a beautiful, lovable, funny, outgoing young woman. Her presence in a room never went unnoticed. Her laugh and smile were infectious and will be missed by all that loved her. 

Besides her parents, she is also survived by her brother, Tyler J. Hurley of Becket; her paternal grandparents John and Estella Hurley of Lenox; her maternal grandparents Larry and Deloris Davis of Mill River; her paternal aunts Kathleen (KaKa) and her husband Michael DeVarennes and their children Tanner and Hadley of Lee and Patricia and her husband Daniel Correia and their children Morgan and Kyle of Livermore, Calif.; her maternal aunt Katherine Chretien and her children Stephanie and Jordan and her grandson Mason of Mill River; her maternal uncle Larry H. Davis III and his fiancé Lori Wilkinson of New Marlboro; her beloved dog Ellie; and many loving friends, great-aunts and great-uncles.

Funeral notice: A Liturgy of Christian Burial for Chelsea Jennifer Hurley of Becket will be celebrated at 11 a.m. at St. Ann’s Church in Lenox on Friday, April 13, 2018. Burial will follow in Fairmount Cemetery in Lee.

Calling hours will be at the Roche Funeral Home in Lenox from 3 to 6 p.m. on Thursday, April 12, 2018. In lieu of flowers, donations in Chelsea’s memory may be made to a GoFundMe page that has been created or to the Roche Funeral Home, PO Box 152, Lenox, MA 01240, to help defray funeral costs.
