Edward B. Hanify Jr., 75

HANCOCK, Mass. - Edward Benno Hanify Jr. of Hancock, Mass., died on April 11, 2018. 

He was born on August 22, 1942, the son of the late Edward and Jane Hanify of Belmont, Mass. He is survived by his partner and best friend, Irene Mineau; his brother John and sister Jane; as well as his children, Brian, Erin, Suellen, Kylie, Caitlin, Chad and Jenna. He also leaves several grandchildren, nieces and nephews and his friend, Julie Hanify.

Ed was a 1964 graduate of the College of Holy Cross. He served as a Captain in the U.S. Air Force from 1964-1970.  Ed was the owner and manager of the Jericho Valley Inn for 28 years until his retirement in 2014. 

Ed enjoyed trips to the ocean especially Martha’s Vineyard. He loved to play golf and coached several local hockey teams. Football was his favorite sport.

Funeral notice: A graveside burial with military honors will take place Monday, May 14, 2018, at 1 p.m. in the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne, Mass.
