Louis J. Petersoli, 100

LEE, Mass. — Louis J. Petersoli, 100, of Lee died Monday, April 23, 2018, at Kimball Farms Nursing Care Center in Lenox.

Louis was born in Springfield, Mass., on December 31, 1917, the son of Antonio and Bridget O’Sullivan Petersoli. After graduating from Agawam High School in 1936, Louis moved to Lee and shortly after enlisted in the U.S. Army, serving from 1942 until his honorable discharge in 1945. 

Mr. Petersoli then worked as a painter, eventually going to work for the Laurel Mill in South Lee in 1958 until his retirement in 1983. Louis married the former Olga Cadenelli July 16, 1949. Mrs. Petersoli died April 21, 2015. 

Louis was a communicant of St. Mary’s Church and former member of its choir. He was also a member of the Lee V.F.W. Post 893 and the Lenox Dale American Legion Post 0274.

Mr. Petersoli is survived by several nieces and nephews. 

Besides his wife, Louis was predeceased by his daughter, Bridget Angela Petersoli; and his brother, Joseph Petersoli.

Funeral notice: Funeral services for Louis J. Petersoli will be held on Thursday, April 26, 2018, at 10 a.m. at St. Mary’s Church with a Liturgy of Christian Burial celebrated by Monsignor John J. Bonzagni. Burial will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery. 

There are no visiting hours. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Mr. Petersoli’s memory to St. Mary’s School in care of Kelly Funeral Home, 3 Main St., Lee, MA 01238.
