Jacqueline Shaughnessy, 77

LENOX, Mass. — Jacqueline (Jackie) Shaughnessy died peacefully at Mt. Carmel Nursing home in Lenox on April 26, 2018, after a courageous battle with Alzheimer's disease. She was 77.

Jackie was born in Pittsfield, Mass., on June 24, 1940, to Raoul and Mary Angeline (Leclerc) Breault. She attended Pittsfield Schools and spent most of her life in Dalton and Hinsdale, where she raised her six children. 

Jackie was a beautiful and compassionate woman who loved spending time with her family.

She is survived by her children, Michelle Orlando (Blair Torelli) of Hinsdale, Debi Counihan (Tim) of Plainfield, N.H., Michael Viner (Sharon) of Hinsdale, Annemarie Garland of Hinsdale, Greg Viner of Hinsdale, and Erin(Rich) Grant of Waltham, Mass.; grandchildren Ross and Jordan Torelli, Gabby and Danni Orlando, Jacob Counihan, Mak Avalon, Isabelle Viner, Erica Newton, Casey Garavito, Lauren Long, Christian Poulton, and Cami and Billy Grant; great-grandchildren Chase and Cruz Garavito, brothers Marcel, Richard (Bev) and Joseph Breault; sister Jeannine Potash; as well as many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her parents; brothers Raymond, Donald, Jerome, Fern, Norman and Bernard Breault; sisters-in-law Lucille Breault and Julie Gomes; and her grandson Nate Newton.

The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the staff of Mt. Carmel nursing home and the hospice staff at Hospice of the Berkshires for their loving care and support.

Funeral notice: A Liturgy of Christian burial will be held Friday, May 4, 2018, at 1 p.m. at St. Agnes Church in Dalton, with Rev. Christopher Malatesta, Pastor, officiating, followed by a brief family service at St. Joseph's cemetery in Pittsfield. 

A celebration of life reception will be held at Wahconah Country Club in Dalton from 4 to 7 p.m. following the services. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the National Alzheimers Association in Jackie's memory care of Dery Funeral Home.
