Michael T. Foley, 72
OTIS, Mass. — Michael T. Foley, 72, died Sunday morning, May 6, 2018, at his home in Otis.
Mr. Foley was born in Brooklyn, N.Y., on September 5, 1945, the son of Robert T. and Joan Osterburg Foley. He attended schools in New York and graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree from Western Connecticut State University. He served honorably in the US Army in Vietnam in 1966 and 1967 and was proud to be a Vietnam Combat Veteran. He later served in the Air Force from 1972-1975.
He worked for Sikorsky Aircraft Corporation in Stratford, Conn., as a Parts Coordinator for more than 15 years and then as a Veteran Employment Administrator for the State of Connecticut VA retiring in 2009. Mr. Foley was a member of the Amvets and was active member of the Otis Congregational Church.
He loved ducks and dinosaurs, history, politics, movies and reading.
Mr. Foley is survived by his wife, the former Marcia Rodie, whom he married on May 7, 1977; two sons, David Foley and his wife Michelle of New Boston, N.H., and Russell Foley and his wife Laura Martin of Stratford, Conn.; and five grandchildren, Hannah, Jacob, Natalya, Maximus and Logan.
He is predeceased by a sister, Doreen Fultz.
Funeral notice: Funeral services for Michael Foley will be held on Monday, May 14, 2018, at 10 a.m. at the Otis Congregational Church in Otis. Burial will follow in Otis Cemetery. Visiting hours will be on Sunday afternoon from 3 to 5 p.m. at the Kelly Funeral Home in Lee.
