Melissa A. Chaffee, 29

PITTSFIELD, Mass. — Melissa Ann Chaffee, 29, of Pittsfield passed away May 10, 2018, at Berkshire Medical Center. 

Born November 5, 1988, the daughter of Donald and Deborah Fosty Chaffee, she was a 2008 graduate of Pittsfield High School. Melissa worked at Hillcrest Commons for 11 years as a dietary aide. 

Melissa had a heart of gold and had a smile that would light up a room. Every day she would always find a way to touch someone’s heart, whether it be family, friends, or a complete stranger. Those amazing hugs she gave for every time she saw you, her bubbly personality, and laugh that you could never forget, will be missed dearly. 

Besides her parents of Pittsfield, she leaves two sisters, Shannon Palestino and her husband Francisco and their son Victor of Pittsfield and Tammy Chaffee of Mars Hill, Maine; her uncle; and many aunts and cousins. 

Funeral notice: Funeral services for Melissa will be held Thursday, May 17, 2018, at 11 a.m. at Dery Funeral Home in Pittsfield, celebrated by Rev. Paul Howlett. Calling hours will be held Wednesday, May 16, 2018, from 4 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in her name to Dery Funeral Home to help the family defray funeral costs.
