Fosca T. Bernardara, 88
ADAMS, Mass. — Fosca Teresa “Cooksie” Bernardara, 88, of Adams passed away Friday, May 18, 2018, at Berkshire Medical Center in Pittsfield, with her family at her bedside.
She was born in Adams on April 12, 1930, a daughter of the late Venceslao and Carolina (Bianchi) Bernardara, and attended Adams schools. Fosca last worked at the former Cornish Wire Corp. in Williamstown, until retiring in 1993. Earlier, she had worked at the former Berkshire Fine Spinning Co. in Adams for many years.
She had been a communicant of the former St. Thomas Aquinas Church in Adams.
She enjoyed reading, mainly Zane Grey’s western novels, of which she had an extensive collection. She also enjoyed movies and playing games, especially Trivial Pursuit, at which she excelled. Her greatest enjoyment was spending time with her two great-grandsons.
She is survived by her son, Alan Bernardara of Adams; two grandchildren, Jamie Bernardara and her fiancée Robert Serrano of North Adams and Jonathan Bernardara of North Adams; her two great-grandsons, Jacob and Logan Serrrano of North Adams; her sister, Norma Tomkowicz and her husband, Hank, of Adams; as well as several nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.
She was predeceased by a sister, Diana Moncecchi; and by two brothers, Rolando and Ilio Bernardara.
Funeral notice: A graveside funeral service will be held on Saturday, June 2, 2018, at 11:30 a.m. in Bellevue Cemetery, Adams. Relatives and friends are invited. There are no calling hours. Memorial donations may be made to Fosca’s granddaughter, Jamie Bernardara, 11 Briggs St., North Adams, MA 01247, for the benefit of her great grandchildren’s education fund. The Paciorek Funeral Home, Adams, is in charge of arrangements.
