Wanda M. Frazitta, 93

PITTSFIELD, Mass. — Wanda Maria (Gori) Frazitta, 93, of Pittsfield, Mass., passed away peacefully on Monday May 21, 2018.

She was born in Pistoia, Italy on August 26, 1924 daughter of Oscare and Gelsomina Gori.  She was educated in Italian schools. Wanda came to the United States following her marriage in 1945. She worked at the Berkshire Coat Factory for many years until her retirement.

She was a communicant of Sacred Heart Church.  Wanda enjoyed cooking for her family, planting flowers and trips to the casino.

Her husband was Mariano James Frazitta; he died June 6, 2017.  They were married on August 10, 1945.

Survivors include one daughter, Margaret M. Ward and her husband, Richard, of Pittsfield; one son, Robert Mario Frazitta and his wife, Diana, of Hudson, Mass.; six grandchildren, Katherine Ward of Pittsfield, Matthew R. Ward of Darien, Conn., Stephanie Frazitta of Medford, Mass., Robyn Cotnoir of Hudson, Mass., Kimberly Frazitta of Redondo Beach, Calif., and James Frazitta of Burlington, Vt.; five great grandchildren, Audrey, Juliet, Annie, Charlie and Giovanni; and nieces and nephews.  

She was predeceased by two sisters and one brother, including Lara Gori, Eda Ciotoli and Franco Gori.

Funeral notice: A Liturgy of Christian Burial for Wanda Frazitta will be celebrated Tuesday, May 29, 2018, at 11 a.m.at Sacred Heart Church.  Burial will follow in St. Joseph's cemetery.  

A calling hour will be held Tuesday morning from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at Flynn & Dagnoli-Bencivenga Funeral Home, 5 Elm St., Pittsfield MA 01201. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to HospiceCare in the Berkshires in care of the funeral home.
