Joseph Biros, 79

ADAMS, Mass. — Mr. Joseph Biros, 79, of Adams died on Friday, July 6, 2018, at North Adams Commons.

He was born in Adams on January 24, 1939, a son of the late Peter and Mary (Tomaszewski) Biros. He attended schools in Adams. Mr. Biros worked for over 27 years in the Power Transformer Division of General Electric Co, then in the Naval Ordnance Division of Martin Marietta and Lockhead Martin until retiring. Earlier he had worked for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts on Mosquito Control. 

He was a communicant of the Parish of St. John Paul II at St. Stanislaus Kostka Church, Adams. He enjoyed hunting, mushrooming, logging and in his earlier years, skydiving and hang-gliding.

His longtime loving companion, Charmaine “Sherry” (Duda) Bradley, died on Tuesday, July 3, 2018.

He is survived by two brothers, Edward Biros and his wife Joan of Adams and Edwin Biros of Adams; two sisters, Cecilia Michalenko and Gladys Czubryt, both of Adams; Sherry’s children, Andrew Briggs, Billy Bradley, Rhonda Trangsrud and Stephanie Gigliotti and their children; and many nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by six brothers, John, Albin, Stanley, Frank, Theodore and Richard Biros; and by two sisters, Alice Cichy and Jane Armata. 

Funeral notice: The funeral will be held on Thursday, July 12, 2018, at 11 a.m. in the Paciorek Funeral Home, 13 Hoosac St., Adams. Burial will follow in St. Stanislaus Kostka Cemetery.
