Evelyn M. Leonesio, 94

ADAMS, Mass. — Mrs. Evelyn M. (Bissaillon) Leonesio, 94, of Adams died Thursday morning, July 12, 2018, at Berkshire Medical Center, North Adams.

She was born in Williamstown on November 27, 1923, a daughter of the late Victor and Ida (Blake) Bissaillon, and attended schools in North Adams. Mrs. Leonesio worked at the former Sprague Electric Co. in North Adams for a number of years, and had also worked at the former W.R. Grace Co. and Adams Rest Home, both in Adams.

She was a communicant of the Parish of St. John Paul II at Notre Dame des Sept Douleurs Church, Adams. She was an avid reader and was an expert quilter, who researched historical quilt patterns and crafted many unique quilts. Evelyn kept her creatively decorated house spotless. She loved visits from her three children and grandchildren, and always baked special treats for their arrival. You never went home empty handed. She cherished her special time with her adored niece, Nancy Bishop.

Her husband, Hugo P. Leonesio, died on August 27, 1999.

She is survived by her children, Chris Leonesio and his husband, Paul Bruemmer, of Watertown, Mass., Carol Leonesio of Watertown, Mass., and Michael Leonesio and his wife, Sharmila Choudhury of Washington, D.C.;  three grandchildren, Sarah Glaser and her husband, David, and Alexis and Gabriel Leonesio; as well as many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.

She was predeceased by a brother, Leo Bissaillon;; and by three sisters, Victoria Niles, Alice St. Pierre and Doris Tibbetts.

Funeral notice: The funeral will be held on Tuesday, July 17, 2018, at 10:30 a.m. from the Paciorek Funeral Home, 13 Hoosac St., Adams, followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. in Notre Dame des Sept Douleurs Church. Burial will follow in Bellevue Cemetery, Adams.
