Fred Skrocki, 95

ADAMS, Mass. — Mr. Fred Skrocki, 95, of Adams died early Friday morning, July 13, 2018, at his home.

He was born in Adams on May 5, 1923, a son of the late Teofil and Julia (Doliva) Skrocki and attended Adams schools. He was a veteran of World War II, serving with the U.S. Navy from 1943 until his Honorable Discharge as an Aviation Radioman 3rd Class in 1946. Fred last worked as a warehouse manager for Girardi Distributors in Pittsfield until his retirement. He also worked as a steward at the former St. Stanislaus Hall in Adams for many years.

He was a communicant of St. Stanislaus Kostka Church, Adams, and was a member of the St. Stanislaus Kostka Society and the Polish National Alliance. He enjoyed fishing, golfing and mushrooming.

His wife, the former Agnes V. Rustic, whom he married on June 2, 1951, died on March 27, 1995.

He is survived by two sons, Alfred Skrocki and his wife, Mary, of Adams and Steven Skrocki and his wife, Dianne, also of Adams; two daughters, Cynthia Skrocki of Adams and Julie Trudeau and her husband, Peter, of West Palm Beach, Fla.; one sister, Isabelle Richardson of North Adams; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews, including his favorite niece, Jody Skrocki. 

He was predeceased by his brothers Frank, Raymond and Joseph Skrocki; and by a sister, Janet Sikora.

Funeral notice: The funeral will be held on Monday, July 16, at 9 a.m. from the Paciorek Funeral Home, 13 Hoosac St., Adams, followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Stanislaus Kostka Church, Adams, celebrated by Rev. John Roach. Burial will follow in St. Stanislaus Cemetery, Adams.

Calling hours are Sunday afternoon, July 15, 2018, from 2 to 4 p.m. in the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made to the Fred and Agnes Skrocki Memorial Scholarship Fund at Hoosac Valley High School in care of Alfred Skrocki, 138 East Road, Adams, MA 01220.
