Frank C. Igo, 88

LENOX DALE, Mass. — Frank C. Igo, 88, of Lenox Dale died Wednesday, August 8, 2018, at Albany Medical Center after a brief illness.

Born on March 29, 1930, in New Haven, Conn., he was the son of the late Dr. Frank H. and Madeline W. Eagan Igo. He attended East Haven High School and was a graduate of Trinity College class of 1957 and a graduate of St. Mary’s College in Baltimore, Md., class of 1958. He worked as a teacher in the Pittsfield School Systems until his retirement in 1996. 

Frank was a sheriff of Berkshire County until 1996. He served on the Lenox School Board Committee. 

Frank enjoyed baseball, model railroading, making miniature buildings and was an avid reader who especially loved anything to do with the Civil War. 

Frank is survived by his wife, Kathleen A. Robertson-Igo; his daughter, Patricia M. Igo of Lenox Dale; his son, Christopher F. Igo of Auburn, N.Y.; his grandson, Aiden A. Igo of Auburn, N.Y.; his brother Robert F. Igo (Joyce) of Clinton, Conn.; many nieces, nephews and sisters-in-laws; and a special brother-in-law, Paul O. Robertson, who drove him around. 

Besides his parents, Frank is predeceased by his brother, Donald Igo of Florida. 

Funeral notice: A Liturgy of Christian Burial will be at St. Vincent de Paul Church at 10 a.m. Monday, August 13, 2018. Burial will be private. There will be no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Frank’s memory to the Berkshire Humane Society in care of the Roche Funeral Home, 120 Main Street, Lenox, MA 01240.
