Eugene H. Kornn, 81

WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. — Eugene Henry Kornn, 81, of Williamstown, Mass., died Tuesday, August 14, 2018, at his home.

He was born in Hancock, Mass., on August 16, 1936, son of Elmer and Hazel (Wetherell) Kornn. He attended schools in Williamstown. He was employed by the Town of Williamstown and worked as a custodian at Mount Greylock High School, as well as Williams College. Eugene also spent time as an animal control officer for the Town of Williamstown, and helped his late wife, Geraldine in running their business, Gene's Ceramics.

Eugene was a devoted father, husband, grandfather and great-grandfather. He enjoyed spending time with his pets Nikki, Peanut, Tubber and Sadie, as well as watching NASCAR.

He was the widower of Geraldine Marie (Harwood) Kornn, whom he married on August 9, 1972. She died on August 19, 2013.

Survivors include his children, Leonard Kornn, David Kornn, Pamela Rahilly, Melisa Sherman and her husband Clyde, Michelle Kornn, Jessie Goss, Eileen Bellinger, Lorie Mitchell and Charlotte Middleton; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; his brothers Ernest, Earl and Ralph Kornn; as well as his sister Betty Green.

He was predeceased by his sister, Evelyn Tower; his brothers Jerry and Edward Kornn; and two grandsons.

Funeral notice: A funeral service to celebrate the life of Eugene Kornn will be held on Wednesday, August 22, 2018, at 2 p.m. at the Sherman Burbank Chapel, 605 Main St., Williamstown, MA 01267. Burial will follow in Eastlawn Cemetery.

Calling hours will take place from noon until the time of the service at the Sherman Burbank Chapel. Donations in his memory may be made to the donor's charity of choice.
