Robert J. Goodell, 43

CLARKSBURG, Mass. — Robert J. Goodell, 43, of Clarksburg, Mass., died on Monday, September 10, 2018.  

Rob was born in Wiesbaden, Germany, on July 14, 1975, and lived in and grew up in Williamstown, Mass. Rob attended elementary schools in Williamstown, and was a 1993 Electricity graduate of McCann Technical High School. Rob really excelled in high school and college, earning numerous awards, scholarships, and recognitions. National Honor Society, Student of the Year, Boy State delegate, and Valedictorian of his class are only a few of his achievements. Rob earned two Associate degrees from Berkshire Community College (Engineering, and Engineering Technology), and later earned a Bachelor degree in Electrical Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. He was a member of Phi Theta Kappa Society.

Rob was a member of North Adams Boy Scout Troop #88 in his younger years, where he obtained the rank of Eagle Scout. Rob was previously a member of the Williamstown Fire Department, worked for the Town of Williamstown Water Department and also Williams College. Rob was passionately devoted to his family, friends, work and community. Most recently, he was employed as a Senior Electrical Engineer at General Dynamics, served as an officer and member of the Clarksburg Volunteer Fire Company, and was member of the Gale Hose Company.   

Survivors include his wife Sheri (Gentes) Goodell, whom he married on June 18, 1999; his daughters Morgan and Madison Goodell; son Dylan Goodell; his mother Linda Goodell of Pittsfield, Mass.; brother Aaron Goodell of North Adams, Mass.; and great aunts Laura and Margaret O’dell.

Funeral notice: The funeral will be Tuesday, September 18, 2018, at 6 p.m. at Flynn & Dagnoli-Montagna Home for Funerals, West Chapel, 521West Main St., North Adams, Mass. Burial will be at a later date.  

 

Calling hours are Tuesday from 3 p.m. until the time of the funeral. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Robert "Rob" Goodell Children's Fund or the Clarksburg Volunteer Fire Company in care of the funeral home.
