Joan H. Chesbro, 84

CLARKSBURG, Mass. — Joan H. Chesbro, 84, of Clarksburg, Mass., died peacefully at her home on Tuesday, October 2, 2018.

She was born in North Adams, Mass., on January 23, 1934, a daughter of Ralph and Ruth (Robertson) Haskins. She attended Williamstown elementary schools and is a 1952 graduate of Drury High School.

She married Harry P. Chesbro in 1954. Mr. Chesbro died in 2010.

Joan was employed at Sprague Electric Co. during the 1950s. Later, she achieved success as an Avon representative and also was employed at the Pizza House, JC Penney and Sullivan Bus Lines. Joan was a member of the Clarksburg Volunteer Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary for many years.

She leaves a daughter, Pamela Chesbro, at home; a son, Peter R. Chesbro (Debra) of Stamford, Vt.; a daughter, Susan Bush (Philip) of Pownal, Vt.; granddaughter Colette Klein (Harry); grandsons David Bugbee (Jessica) of Stamford, Vt., and Jeremy Bacon (Calli) of Cape Coral, Fla.; great-grandchildren Kaitlynn Karo, Mackenzie Klein, Matthew Bugbee, Jacob Bugbee and Hayli Bacon; a sister-in-law, Lois Horton of Pennsylvania; two brothers-in-law, Carlyle Chesbro (Loretta) of Clarksburg, Mass., and Howard Chesbro (Karen) of Clarksburg, Mass.; as well as several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her sister-in-law, Marie Sherman Hibbard.

Funeral notice: The funeral for Joan Chesbro will be Friday, October 5, 2018, at 11 a.m. at Flynn & Dagnoli-Montagna Home for Funerals, West Chapel, 521 West Main St. North Adams, Mass. Burial will follow in Clarksburg Cemetery.

Calling hours at the funeral home are Friday morning from 9 to 11 a.m. Memorial donations may be made to the Clarksburg Volunteer Fire Department in care of the funeral home.
