Edith M. Maynard, 89

NORTH ADAMS, Mass. — Edith May (Fachini) Maynard, 89, of North Adams died on Monday, November 26, 2018, at Berkshire Medical Center.

Edith was born on February 11, 1929, in North Adams, Mass., a daughter of the late Antonio Giuseppe & Edna Alice (Bratcher) Fachini.

Edith attended local schools and then went onto work at Wall-Streeter Shoe Company and then later at Sprague Electric Company. Edith was primarily a devoted mother and homemaker. She loved playing the piano, singing, and playing miniature golf with her girls.

She was a communicant of St. Elizabeth of Hungary Church.

Edith was the widow of Warren Joseph Maynard, who died on January 5, 1998; they were married on January 30, 1954.

She leaves two daughters, Deborah Ann Coody of Adams, Mass., and Dawn Maynard Cahoon and her husband, Mark, of North Adams; five grandchildren, Steven Eric Coody, Christine Ann Coody, Jeremy Joseph Cahoon, Jillian Marie Cahoon and Justin Michael Cahoon; two great-grandchildren, Elizabeth and Jaidyn; a brother, John Fachini of North Adams; two sisters, Irene Schroeder of Methuen, Mass., and Diane Vattes of Manchester, N.H.; and nieces and nephews.

Nine brothers and sisters are deceased, including Betty Lentine, Midge Manchini, James Fachini, Joseph Fachini, Robert Fachini, Carol Ann Fachini, Anthony Fachini, Michael Fachini and Louis Fachini.

Funeral notice: A Graveside Service for Edith Maynard will be held on Wednesday, December 5, 2018, at 11 a.m. in Southview Cemetery. There are no calling hours.
