Recollections & Sympathy For the Family
Post Comment
I was alerted to Bernie’s passing the day of the funeral and immediately had to tell my brothers. We all grew up together in Sidney ;not Sydney). NY. In fact he shared the 1974 Outstanding Senior Male Athlete award.

In the fall of 2016, we honored his undefeated basketball team at our Alumni Sports Hall of Fame ceremony and I asked Bernie to speak on behalf of the juniors. My only advice was if emotions got to him (never saw that as an issue), just say “thank you” and back away. He started in...and did exactly that. Priceless.

Sympathies to all of the family. Though we lost touch, the memories are strong and lasting. Love to all. ~ Greg Davie

So sad to see this. Bernie and his family lived a few houses away from us in Sidney. My sincere sympathy to his family. May he RIP.
