Claire 'Toby' Adams, 76

ADAMS, Mass. — Claire Louise "Toby" (Stoessel) Adams, 76, of Adams passed away peacefully at home on February 12, 2019, surrounded by her two loving daughters and her sister.

She was born in Pittsfield on June 11, 1942, a daughter of Richard and Charlotte Stoessel.

Claire, also known to many as Toby, was a lifelong resident of Adams. She was a member and past president of the Adams Taxpayers Association and loved being an active member of the community. She waitressed and bartended at many local establishments until she became a landlord, purchasing several properties in Adams.

Claire also enjoyed spending time at her home on the Cape and loved the beach. Claire was an avid reader and loved spending time with her children and grandchildren. She was a friend to many.

She is survived by her daughters, Tammy Chaperon of Pittsfield and Tiersa Bazo and her husband, Joe, of Madbury, N.H.; her sisters, Charlotte Manning of Troy, N.Y., and Jennie Siver of Saratoga, N.Y.; her five grandchildren, Justin Kruszyna and his wife, Leah, Renee Kruszyna, Ashley Albert and her husband, Stephen, Brodie Bazo and his wife, Chevelle, and Colin Bazo; five great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her husband, James G. Adams; and her sisters Lucinda Flint and Diana Stoessel.

Funeral notice: Calling hours for Claire will be held on Saturday, Feb. 16, 2019, from 3 to 5 p.m. in the Paciorek Funeral Home, 13 Hoosac St. Adams. Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
