Annabelle J. Mahar, 91

CHESHIRE, Mass. — Mrs. Annabelle J. (Lacy) Mahar, 91, of Cheshire, died Monday, August 19, 2019, at Berkshire Medical Center in Pittsfield.

She was born in Adams on May 27, 1928, a daughter of the late King and Bella (LeClair) Lacy. She attended Adams schools, graduating from the former Adams High School.

Annabelle last worked in the Power Transformer Division of General Electric Co. in Pittsfield, until retiring. Earlier, she had worked at the former Sprague Electric Co. in North Adams.

Annabelle had attended St. Mary of the Assumption Church, Cheshire. She enjoyed crafting, camping, square dancing, and spending time with her grandchildren.

She is survived by her son, David Mahar and his wife, Debra, of Hoosick Falls, N.Y.; her daughter, Sandra Cairns of Adams; three grandchildren, Todd Cairns, Megan Mahar and Aubrey Mahar; two great-grandchildren, Marina and Skyler; two sisters, Bernadine Phillips of Pittsfield and Bessie Gottardi of North Adams, as well as several nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.

She was predeceased by her son-in-law, William Cairns; a sister, Lillie Thomas; two brothers, Clement and Thomas Lacy; and her former husband, David Mahar.

Funeral notice: A graveside funeral service will be held on Friday, August 23, 2019, at 11 a.m. in Bellevue Cemetery, Adams. Relatives and friends are invited. There are no calling hours.
