Shirley Anne Cantoni, 74

January 20, 2014

NORTH ADAMS, Mass. — Shirley Anne Cantoni, 74, of 150 Ashland St. died Monday, Jan. 20, 2014, at Berkshire Medical Center in Pittsfield.

Born in North Adams on Nov. 11, 1939, daughter of Michael and Margaret Pilling Healey. she attended the former St. Joseph's Parochial School and graduated from Drury High School.

Mrs. Cantoni was employed by Cascade School Supplies until her retirement in 1998. She had earlier worked at the former Hoosac Cotton Mill, Sprague Electric and Cornish Wire companies.

She was a communicant of the former St. Francis of Assisi Church and enjoyed reading, puzzles and crocheting. She especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.

She leaves her former husband, Augustino A. Cantoni of North Adams; four daughters, Karen Parrino and her husband, Michael, of Clarksburg, Linda Cantoni and Victoria Norcross and her husband, Michael, all of North Adams, and Angela Cantoni and her significant other, Michael Nelson, of Dalton; a son, Joseph Cantoni and his wife, Karen, of North Adams; three stepchildren, Ann Shutters, Matthew Cantoni and David Cantoni, all of North Adams; a sister, Sandra Healey of North Adams; a brother, Robert Healey of the Cook Islands; 31 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren, and nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.

She was predeceased by her sister Diane Holmes.

FUNERAL NOTICE — The funeral for Mrs. Cantoni will be Saturday, Jan. 25, at 11 a.m. from Flynn & Dagnoli-Montagna Home for Funerals, West Chapels, 521 West Main St., North Adams. Burial will be at a later date.

Calling hours will be Saturday morning from 9 to 11 at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Berkshire County Kids Place in care of the funeral home.
