Deborah Ann Pierce, 56

NORTH ADAMS, Mass. — Deborah Ann Pierce, 56, of 95 Cleveland Ave. died on Friday, March 7, 2014, as a result of an automobile accident.

Born in North Adams on March 21, 1957, a daughter of Arthur Douglas and of Loretta LaFountain Douglas Wojcik, she attended schools in Adams.

Ms. Pierce was employed at Williams College in the Dining Services Department.

She enjoyed cooking, baking, dancing, music, spending time with her family, watching movies, and riding her bicycle throughout the county.

She leaves two daughters, Tiffany Gray and Angela Pierce and her girlfriend, Katelynn Martin, all of North Adams; a son, Corey Pierce and his girlfriend, Samantha Guerrero, of North Adams; a brother, Michael Douglas of Springfield; a sister, Chris Martin Arnold of the town of Florida, and four grandchildren, Samantha Pierce, Jordan Pierce, Jessica LaFountain and Nayomi Martin, and another one on the way

FUNERAL NOTICE — A funeral service to celebrate the life of Ms. Pierce will be held on Thursday, March 13, at 11 a.m. at Flynn & Dagnoli-Montagna Home for Funerals, Central Chapels, 74 Marshall St., North Adams.

Calling hours will be held at the funeral home from 9 until the time of the services. Donations may be made in her memory through the funeral home.

Wow! What an loss, Deb was one of Berkshire County's most prominent cyclists. She was a mystery to many, but all asked, "who's that lady?". They would see her "everywhere", night and day, nearly year 'round.When work ended, she would take the long way home. She earned our admiration for her endurance and love of riding. She recruited Corey to riding and inspired so many others by being a great example.
Though not known to many, she was widely recognized and admired from afar.
