Geraldine E. Shartrand, 101

NORTH ADAMS, Mass. — Geraldine E. Shartrand, 101, of 118 Reed St. died Monday, March 7, 2014, at her home. Born in North Adams on Oct. 26, 1912, a daughter of Edwin and Virginia Biron Morse, she attended schools in North Adams. Mrs. Shartrand was employed at the former Sprague Electric Co. as a production supervisor. She was a devoted mother and grandmother and a member of the Living Church of God. Her husband, Raymond Shartrand, whom she married May 30, 1932, died Oct. 15, 1983. She leaves two daughters, Patricia Jowett and her husband, Harry, of North Adams, with whom she made her home, and Joan Hohn and her husband, Tom, of Hoosick Falls, N.Y.; two sons Raymond Shartrand and his wife, Claire, and Ronald Shartrand and his wife, Peggy, all of North Adams., and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her daughters Lorraine Maxwell Doubleday, Shirley LaBombard and Jane Andrew, and a brother and three sisters predeceased her. FUNERAL NOTICE — Graveside services for Mrs. Shartrand will take place Friday, April 11, at 1 p.m. at the family plot in Southview Cemetery, North Adams. There will be no calling hours. Flynn & Dagnoli-Montagna Home for Funerals is in charge of arrangements.
