Aileen Mazza, 85

NORTH ADAMS, Mass. — Aileen Doris Mazza, 85, of 10 Veazie St. died Sunday, April 27, 2014, at Berkshire Medical Center in Pittsfield. Born in Cohoes, N.Y., on Sept. 21, 1928, she was the daughter of Henry and Anna May LaFreniere Riel. After the death of her parents, she was adopted by her aunt and uncle, Robert Joseph and Julia Rose Riel Morin, moving to live with them in the city's Greylock section at age 6. She attended the former Holy Family Parochial School. Mrs. Mazza was employed by the former Sprague Electric Co. in various departments for 45 years until her retirement in 1992. She was a communicant of the former St. Anthony of Padua Church and a member of the Sprague retirees. Her husband, Pasquale Mazza, with whom she enjoyed 48 years of marriage, died on Nov. 13, 1998. They were wed Aug. 12, 1950, in the former Holy Family Church in Greylock. She leaves two daughters, Lorraine Zell and her husband, David of Tolland, Conn., and Patricia LaPointe and her husband, Raymond, of Awendaw, S.C.; four grandchildren, Geoffrey LaPointe, Evan Zell, Savanna Zell and Justin Zell; a great-grandchild, Maddilyn Riel Zell, and nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. A sister and three brothers predeceased her: Lucille Bullett, Henri Riel, Leo Morin and Alfred Patenaude. FUNERAL NOTICE — A Liturgy of Christian Burial for Mrs. Mazza will be celebrated Saturday, May 3, at 11 at St. Elizabeth of Hungary Church. Burial will follow in Southview Cemetery. Calling hours will be Saturday morning from 9 to 10:30 atFlynn & Dagnoli-Montagna Home for Funerals, Central Chapels, 74 Marshall St. North Adams.
