NORTH ADAMS, Mass. — Harold Raymond "Butch" Jones, 71, of 475 West Main St. died Saturday, May 24, 2014, at VA Boston's West Roxbury Hospital.
Born in North Adams on May 7, 1943, son of Joseph and Evelyn Blanchard Lyons, he attended local schools and graduated from Drury High School. He also completed the radiology program at the former North Adams Regional Hospital.
A Navy veteran of the Vietnam War, he served as a corpsman and earned the Navy and Marine Corps Medal.
Mr. Jones was last employed by the Navy at the VA Hospital in Newport, R.I., until retiring due to ill health. Before that, he had worked at North Adams Regional.
He and his wife, the former Patricia Wilk Butler, were married on May 17, 2009.
He leaves a stepson, Randy Butler of Huntington; his sister, Debra Crews of Clarksburg; four Grandchildren, Isaiah Butler, Amadeus Butler, Christian Butler, Kelsey Butler, an aunt, cousins, nieces and nephews.
FUNERAL NOTICE — The funeral for Mr. Jones will be Wednesday, May 28, at noon at Flynn & Dagnoli-Montagna Home for Funerals, West Chapels, 521 West Main St., North Adams. Burial will follow in Bellevue Cemetery in Adams.
A calling hour will be held on Wednesday morning from 11 to noon. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society in care of the funeral home.
