Gary J. Arnold, 62

June 01, 2014

SAVOY, Mass. — Gary Joseph Arnold, 62, of 100 Horton Road, died Sunday, June 1, 2014, at Bay State Medical Center in Springfield.

Born in North Adams on July 19, 1951, son of Claire Lambert Arnold of North Adams and the late Aime J. Arnold, he attended schools in Stamford, Vt., and Drury High School in North Adams.

Mr. Arnold was last employed by Brown Packaging Co. Before that, he worked in the black-topping business with various contractors.

He was a communicant of St. John Bosco Church of Stamford. He enjoyed golfing, riding his motorcycle, working on antique cars, hunting, and playing cribbage. He especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. He was a friend to everyone who knew him.

Besides his mother, he leaves a daughter, Ramona Meczywor and her fiance, Danyle Mazzacco, of Adams; a son, Gary J. Arnold Jr. of Austin, Texas; six brothers, Andrew Arnold and his wife, Gail, Edward Arnold and Michael Arnold and his wife, Mary Jane, all of North Adams; Lawrence Arnold and his wife, Bette, and Richard Arnold and his wife, Sandy, all of Stamford, and Christopher Arnold and his wife, Jackie, of Savoy; a sister, Diane Bushika and her husband, Joseph, of Clarksburg; three grandchildren, Justin, Joshua and Addisyn Meczywor; his former wives, Bernadette Cimonetti and Claudia Crews; and nieces and nephews.

FUNERAL NOTICE — The funeral for Mr. Arnold will be Saturday, June 7, at 11 from Flynn & Dagnoli-Montagna Home for Funerals, West Chapels, 521 West Main St., North Adams. Burial will follow in Millard Cemetery in Stamford.

Calling hours will be Saturday morning from 9 to 11 at the funeral home. Donations may be made in his memory to the funeral home.

So sorry for your loss Mona, and all of the Arnold family. I liked Gary...Easy man to talk to. Will miss telling him he needs to get his bike inspected, not sure if he ever did.
