Ruth C. Daniels, 75

NORTH ADAMS, Mass. — Ruth C. Daniels, 75, of Willow Valley Communities of Lancaster, Pa., died Tuesday, June 24, 2014, at Lancaster General Hospital.    

She was the wife of Colin W. Daniels, who was born and raised in the North Adams area. They were married for 55 years.

Born in Somers Point, N.J., she was the daughter of Raymond and Emily Eliassen Mingin.

Mrs. Daniels worked as a veterinary hospital office manager and veterinary assistant for many years until her retirement.

A member of Lancaster Church of the Nazarene, she organized many events and groups, including a Cancer Support Group.  She was an extremely avid reader, and enjoyed crossword puzzles and collecting owls. After their retirement, she and her husband enjoyed traveling throughout the United States.

In addition to her husband, she leaves her daughter, Cheryl D. Carnahan and her husband, Gary, of Hampton, Va.; her son, Colin David Daniels and his wife, Debbie Jean, of Mays Landing, N.J., and her stepgranddaughter, Corrie J. May and her husband, Joseph, of Egg Harbor City, N.J.

 FUNERAL NOTICE — Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the funeral for Mrs. Daniels on Tuesday, July 1, at 7 p.m. at Flynn & Dagnoli-Montagna Home for Funerals, West Chapels, 521 W. Main St., North Adams. Interment will be in Ahab and Ruth Hill Family Cemetery in North Adams on Wednesday, July 2, at the convenience of the family.

Friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday from 6 until the time of the services.
