Norman E. Harvey, 83
CLARKSBURG, Mass. — Norman Edward Harvey, 83, of 30 Conti Drive died Tuesday, Dec. 2, 2014, at Berkshire Medical Center in Pittsfield.
Born in North Adams on Oct. 22, 1931, son of Albert and Malvina Gelinas Harvey, he attended Clarksburg schools.
Mr. Harvey was employed by Petricca Construction Co. with Labor Union Local 473 for more than 25 years, until his retirement. He was recognized for being a union member for more than 50 years.
He was a communicant of the former St. Francis of Assisi Church. He enjoyed hunting and hiking. He especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
His wife, the former Helen Mary Whitcavitch, whom he married on Oct. 31, 1953, died on Oct. 5, 2001.
He leaves a son, Edward Norman Harvey of Clarksburg; a daughter Deborah Harvey of Downington, Pa.; a brother, Albert "Jack" Harvey Jr. of North Adams; a sister, Mabel Sorel of Ludlow; two grandchildren including Megan Ferrese and her husband, Brian and Michelle Zustra; two great grandchildren including Carter Ferrese and Brady Ferrese; MA and nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his siblings Dorothy Arabia and Ernest Harvey.
FUNERAL NOTICE — The funeral for Mr. Harvey will be Monday, Dec. 8, at 11 a.m. at Flynn & Dagnoli-Montagna Home for Funerals, West Chapels, 521 West Main St., North Adams. Burial will follow in Southview Cemetery.
Calling hours will be Monday morning from 9 to 11 at the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society in care of the funeral home.
