Andrew F. Gigliotti, 88

ADAMS, Mass. — Andrew Francis Gigliotti, 88, of Port Orange, Fla., and formerly of 64 East St., died Saturday, Dec. 6, 2014, at Bishop's Glen Nursing Home in Holly Hill, Fla. Born in North Adams on Feb. 28, 1926, son of Amedeo P. and Emilia "Mae" Grande Gigliotti, he graduated from Drury High School in North Adams and joined the service. He completed his education at Keene (N.H.) State College, earning his bachelor's degree and master's degree in industrial education. He was an Army Air Forces veteran of World War II. Mr. Gigliotti taught industrial arts at Drury High School until he transferred in 1957 to the former Adams Memorial High School, retiring in 1981 as chairman of the Industrial Arts Department from its successor, Hoosac Valley High School. He had first taught in Stowe, Vt., for two years. After retiring, he joined Isgood Realty firm in Pittsfield and helped open its Adams office with Harold Dupee, retiring for good in 1988. He was a communicant of the former St. Thomas Aquinas Church. He was a trustee of the Adams Memorial Library and a member of the Adams Housing Authority board. He was a member and past president of both the Adams and Berkshire County Industrial Arts teachers associations. He was a member of American legion Post 125 in North Adams and the Knights of Columbus. He and his wife, the former Margaret Mary Brooks, were married on Aug. 19, 1950. Besides his wife of 64 years, he leaves a daughter, Linda Irace and her husband, Floyd, of Port Orange; five sons, Andrew P. Gigliotti and his wife, Debra, and William F. Gigliotti and his wife, Luanne, all of Adams, Robert D. Gigliotti and his wife, Melanie, of LaGrange, Ky., Thomas M. Gigliotti and his wife, Susan, of Chesapeake, Va., and Steven A. Gigliotti and his wife, Michele, of Cheshire; two brothers, Ronald A. Gigliotti of LaPorte, Ind., and Alan P. Gigliotti of Hudson; 15 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren, and nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. FUNERAL NOTICE — The funeral for Mr. Gigliotti will be Monday, Dec. 15, at 10:15 a.m. from Flynn & Dagnoli-Montagna Home for Funerals, Central Chapels, 74 Marshall St., North Adams, followed by a Funeral Mass at 11 from St. Elizabeth of Hungary Church in North Adams. Burial will follow in Southview Cemetery in North Adams. Calling hours will be Sunday, Dec. 14, from 4 to 7 at the funeral home. Memorial donations are suggested to Hospice of Volusia/Flagler, 3800 Woodbriar Trail, Port Orange, FL 32129.

I enjoyed my association with Andy as a colleague at Adams Cheshire..he was a really great guy..And my regards to each of his children I had the priveledge to teach.
