Lula M. Park, 88

WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. — Lula M. Park, 88, of Williamstown died peacefully on Wednesday, March 25, 2015, at Sweet Brook Care Centers following a brief illness. Born in Hoosick Falls, N.Y., on Oct. 6, 1926, she was the daughter of Ernest and Margaret Hollis. Mrs. Park was employed as a custodian at Williams College for 29 years until retiring in 1992. She worked in a war plant in Hoosick Falls during Word War II. After retiring, she volunteered at the local food pantry and worked at the Turner House for homeless veterans. She was also involved with the Richard A. Ruether American Legion Post 152 Ladies Auxiliary and was a member at the time of her death. She volunteered in the 1960s for Pee Wee Football and Cub Scouts of America. During this time, she was also highly active with the child care and Sunday school activities at St. John's Church. She enjoyed sitting around a fire outside with her family, sitting at the fireplace during the winter mouths, reading books and doing word searches. Her husband, William Park, whom she married Nov. 4, 1944, in East Arlington, Vt., died in 1974. She leaves three sons, Scott Park and his wife, Kathy, of Williamstown, David Park and his wife, Sarah, of Grand Isle, Vt., Denny Park and his wife, Bonnie, of Nashua, N.H.; her daughter, Paula Wolf and her husband, Carl, of Williamstown; two brothers, Howard Hollis of Milford, Kans., and Teddy Hollis of Glens Falls, N.Y.; her sister, Pearl Giton of North Carolina; and eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren, whom she adored. She was predeceased by her brother Charles Hollis, late of North Carolina. FUNERAL NOTICE — Funeral services for Mrs. Park will be celebrated Tuesday, March 31, at 11 from St. John's Episcopal Church in Williamstown. Burial will follow in Westlawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations are suggested for the St. Patrick's Church food Pantry through Flynn & Dagnoli-Montagna Home for Funerals, West Chapels, 521 West Main St., North Adams, MA 01247.
