Barbara McKeon, 65
NORTH ADAMS, Mass. — Barbara McKeon, 65, died on Tuesday, April 7, 2015, at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield.
Born in North Adams on Dec. 20, 1949, a daughter of Harry and Rose Gardner Derosia, she attended local schools and graduated from Drury High School.
Mrs. McKeon was employed at her mother's business, Rose's Taxi and later Vet's Taxi, as well as at the Center for Humanistic Change in Adams.
She was a member of George L. Curran Post 996 Veterans of Foreign Wars Ladies Auxiliary, the Disabled Veterans Ladies Auxiliary and TOPS (Taking Pounds of Sensibly). She had been a member of the former Notre Dame Church.
Her former husband John McKeon died July 7, 1995.
She leaves three daughters, Doreen McKeon of Williamstown, Jacqueline McKeon and Rebecca McKeon and her companion, Ryan Departie, all of North Adams; a son, James McKeon of North Adams; a sister, Susan Derosia of Adams; nine grandchildren, Bradford, Kristina, Aaron, Aiden, Avery, Auston, Alyssa, Justin and Chelsea, and six great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her brother, Gerald Derosia, and her sisters Constance Hubbel and Carol Derosia.
FUNERAL NOTICE — A graveside service to celebrate the life of Mrs. McKeon will be held in Bellevue Cemetery in Adams on Thursday, April 16, at 1 p.m.
