Brigit C. Connerton, 43
NORTH ADAMS, Mass. — Brigit Cutler Connerton, 43, of Troy, N.Y., a North Adams native, died Friday, May 15, 2015, at Albany (N.Y.) Medical Center, following a routine medical procedure.
Born in North Adams on Jan. 22, 1972, the daughter of Daniel P. and Sally B. Connerton of North Adams, she was a graduate of Drury High School, and of Russell Sage College in Troy, where she majored in English.
She loved and was involved in music, and studied piano and organ. She served in the Peace Corps in Chad.
Ms. Connerton was an executive secretary for the past eight years for the legal firm of Whiteman Osterman & Hanna in Albany. After the Peace Corps, she had worked in Seattle for several years as the manager of La Patisserie, a French bakery at Pike Place Market.
She attended the University of Washington in Seattle and earned professional certification as a paralegal while working as a legal secretary for the Seattle law firm of Hillis Clark Martin & Peterson. After returning to the Berkshires, she worked as a paralegal for the Williamstown firm of Grinnell Dubendorf & Smith before moving to Troy.
Besides her parents, she leaves her sister, Winifred Connerton, and her sister-in-law, Jennifer Ryan, of Edison, N.J., and her niece, Margaret Grace Connerton-Ryan, also of Edison.
