Geraldine J. Scarafoni, 80

WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. - Geraldine Joan Scarafoni, 80, of Southworth Street died Sunday, June 7, 2015, at her home. Born in Athol on Aug. 24, 1934, a daughter of Clovis James and Mary Ellen Garvey Giard, she graduated from Pittsfield High School and attended Mercy Hospital Nursing School in Springfield. Mrs. Scarafoni was a devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend. She leaves her husband, Richard Scarafoni, whom she married on Aug. 21, 1954. They began dating when they were teenagers and remained devoted to one another for 60 years. Anyone who knew them knew what a special couple they were. Behind their constant bickering and teasing was a true love: playful, passionate, and eternal. She loved spending time with her family and friends and adored her pets. She and her husband enjoyed traveling all over the world, taking pictures, decorating her homes, and debating current events. Besides her husband of 60 years, she leaves two daughters, Wende Carver and her husband, David, and Marisa Daley and her husband, Hugh, all of Williamstown; two sons, Dean Scarafoni and his wife, Pam, of Manchester and Marc Scarafoni of Williamstown; her sister, Marylou Dupont of Williamstown; eight grandchildren who will deeply miss her, Rachaele Morin, Rebecca Ticconi, Heather Carver, Daniel Scarafoni, Ben Scarafoni, Sam Daley, Connor Daley and Matthew Daley; her six great-grandchildren; and her nieces and nephews, Tom and Tara Carr, Paul and Sally Carr, Jennifer and Daniel Soldato, Matthew and Melissa Scarafoni, Todd and Christine Scarafoni, Noel and Julia Dupont, and many great nieces and nephews. She was blessed with an extremely supportive extended family. Of special note is niece Jennifer Soldato, who was of great comfort and constant companionship to Mrs. Scarafoni during her illness. Her sister Ann Carr is deceased. FUNERAL NOTICE - Mrs. Scarafoni's life will be celebrated at a private gathering at the Scarafoni home at a later date. Donations in her honor can be made to the Dempster Family Foundation or the Multiple Sclerosis Support Foundation through Flynn & Dagnoli-Montagna Home for Funerals. The family would like to thank HospiceCare in the Berkshires Inc., especially Shannon and Julie, for their care and support this year. And we cannot even begin to thank Gerry's caregivers from At Home TLC enough, all of whom were like family to Dick and Gerry over the year. Much love and gratitude goes out to the entire TLC family, especially Kim Beverly, Jody Berard-Kemp, Beth Bator, Laura O'Neil and Melissa Bryce, Arica Ouimet, and Chelsea Gancarz.
