John Bua, 92
ADAMS, Mass. — John Bua, 92, of Apremont Street died Friday, Feb. 12, 2016, at Berkshire Medical Center in Pittsfield.
Born in Chicago on April 10, 1923, son of Salvatore and Lena Corrente Bua, he attended local schools.
Mr. Bua was last employed by the former Beloit Corp. in Pittsfield. Before that, he worked at the former Wall-Streeter Shoe Co. in North Adams for many years until it closed.
He was a communicant of the Parish of St. John Paul II. He enjoyed gardening and working in his yard. He had a talent for floral arrangements and Christmas decorations. He especially enjoyed spending time with family and playing cards with family members.
He and his wife, the former Rena Betolatti, were married on July 10, 1948.
Besides his wife, he leaves two sons, Jeffrey Bua of Santa Barbara, Calif., and James Bua and his companion, Sharon Oakes, of Monroe; two brothers, Carmen "Gus" Bua and Salvatore Bua and his wife, Flo, all of North Adams; three sisters, Mary Pinkall, Rose Richard, and Madeline Andrews and her husband, Donald, all of North Adams; two grandchildren, Shane Bua of North Adams and Ashley Bua of Los Angeles; and nieces, nephews, grandnieces, and grandnephews.
A sister, Esther Critelli, is deceased.
FUNERAL NOTICE — The funeral for Mr. Bua will be Tuesday, Feb. 16, at 10 a.m. at Flynn & Dagnoli-Montagna Home for Funerals, West Chapels, 521 West Main St. North Adams. Burial will follow in Bellevue Cemetery in Adams.
Calling hours will be Monday, Feb. 15, from 4 to 7 at the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made to the Adams Ambulance Service in care of the funeral home.
