Blanche Spence Rackliffe, 87
BENNINGTON, Vt. — Blanche Spence Rackliffe, 87, a resident of Crescent Boulevard, passed away April 19, 2016, at Crescent Manor Nursing Home surrounded by her family.
Blanche was born in White Plains, N.Y., on December 7, 1928, the daughter of Garnet and Christine (Hammond) Spence. She graduated from high school and attended Farmington State College in Maine.
In her earlier years, Blanche worked in retail sales for Camelot Village and Shaftsbury Antiques. Blanche enjoyed her home, knitting, floral arrangements and loved to sing.
Blanche is survived by her children, Sharon Winnicki of Shrewsbury, Vt., Brett Rackliffe and Mark Rackliffe and his wife Kimberly, all of Fishers, Ind.; grandchildren Haley and Christopher Rackliffe, Jennifer Southard, Lara Herman and Meredith Winnicki; and great -randchildren Luke and Hannah Herman and Taylor Tejara.
She was preceded in death by her husband Earlon Rackliffe, whom she married in Belfast, Maine on July 24, 1948. Mr. Rackliffe passed away January 2, 2006.
Funeral notice: Funeral services for Blanche will be held Saturday, May 7, 2016, at 10 a.m. at Hanson-Walbridge & Shea Funeral Home, 213 West Main St., Bennington. Interment will follow in the family lot in Center Shaftsbury Cemetery. There are no visiting hours.
