Chester Michalski, 94

ADAMS, Mass. — Mr. Chester S. Michalski, 94, of 12 Allen St., Adams, died on Tuesday, April 26, 2016, at his home. 

He was born in Cheshire on January 1, 1922, son of the late Michael and Catherine (Flaga) Michalski. He attended schools in Cheshire. 

Mr. Michalski last worked for the former General Electric Co. in Pittsfield until retiring in 1984. Earlier he had worked for the former Arnold Print Works and the Berkshire Mills. 

He was a communicant of the Parish of St. John Paul II at St. Stanislaus Kostka Church, Adams. He was a member of the Polish National Alliance and the Maple Grove Civic Club, both in Adams. 

He is survived by his wife, the former Rachel Pero, whom he married on September 15, 1945, his son, Ronald Michalski of Pierson, Fla.; his daughter, Kathleen Raimer of North Adams; two grandchildren, Kelly Michalski of Jacksonville Beach, Fla, and Jeffery Michalski and his wife Joanna of Jacksonville, Fla.; two great-grandchildren, Alexandra and Matrim Michalski; one sister, Helen Koperniak of Adams; his sister-in-law, Helen Michalski of Pittsfield; and many nieces and nephews. 

He was predeceased by five brothers, William, Stanley, Edward, Frank and Walter Michalski; and one sister, Anna Mach. 

Funeral notice: The funeral will be held on Tuesday, May 3, at 11:30 a.m. from the Paciorek Funeral Home, 13 Hoosac St., Adams, followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at noon in St. Stanislaus Kostka Church, Adams, celebrated by Rev. Steven Montesanti, Pastor. Burial will be at a later date at the convenience of the family.
