Marie 'Marge' Lampron, 90

NORTH ADAMS, Mass. — Marie Marguerite “Marge” R. (Choquette) Lampron, 90, of Wells Avenue, North Adams, died on Tuesday May 17, 2016, at her home.  

She was born in North Adams on February 9, 1926, a daughter of the late Noé and Adouilda (LeFebvre) Choquette. She attended Notre Dame du Sacre Coeur School and graduated from Bliss Business College.

She married the late Bill Lampron on Aug. 1, 1945. She started her career as a receptionist at Shapiro and Sons and later served as the office manager for the family business, B. Lampron and Sons.

Marge was a communicant of Notre Dame and later St. Elizabeth of Hungary Church. She was a Eucharistic Minister both at church and a local nursing home.  She was a member of the Notre Dame Rosary Society, she assisted in recording the weekly collections and volunteered at bingo.  Marge was active as a Girl Scout Troop leader. She was on the Board of Directors of United Cerebral Palsy and served as Swim/Gym coordinator for over 20 years.  She worked at the election polls.  

Her greatest joys were her family and traveling with her husband.

Survivors include her daughter Barbara of North Adams; son Daniel and his wife Kathi of North Adams and their son Thomas and his wife Beth of Watervliet, N.Y.; her beloved daughter-in-law Lynn Lampron-Risch; her grandchildren, Dawn and Kevin Lampron, Joshua, Jonas, Josiah and Jesse Benoit, Heidi Cooper and Gabriella Lampron; 16 great-grandchildren; her sister Martha Harris; and three brothers, Victor, Gerald and Raymond Choquette. 

She was predeceased by her son, David Lampron; and two brothers, John and Rolland Choquette.

Funeral notice: A Liturgy of Christian Burial for Marie Marguerite “Marge” R. (Choquette) Lampron will be held at the St. Elizabeth of Hungary Church in North Adams on Thursday, June 9, at 11:05 a.m. Burial will follow at the Southview Cemetery. 

Calling hours will be held at the church prior to the service beginning at 10:30 a.m. until the time of the service.  Any memorial donations can be made to the donor's choice. Flynn & Dagnoli-Montagna Home for Funerals is in charge of the arrangements.
