Ruth H. Choquette, 90

CLARKSBURG, Mass. — Ruth H. (LePage) Choquette, 90, of Clarksburg died Friday, May 27, 2016, at North Adams Commons.

She was born in North Adams, Mass., on March 8, 1926, daughter of Charles and Ruth (Richmond) LePage and was a stepdaughter to Charles E. Shufelt.  She attended the former Notre Dame Parochial School.

She was employed as the office manager at the former McCraw & Tatro and at the HW Clark Biscuit Co. Before her marriage, Ruth worked at Abrams and Boright in Chatham, N.Y.

She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother and great grandmother. She was a communicant of the former Notre Dame du Sacre Coeur Church.

She was the widow of Roland Choquette, who died on May 21, 1996. They were married on September 11, 1946.  

Survivors include five daughters, Gloria Gwozdz, Susan Sargent and her longtime companion Jon Harvey, and Diane Choquette of North Adams, Michele LeBeau and her husband David of Adams, and Denise Luczynski and her husband Dennis of Goshen; one son, Louis Choquette and his wife Rina of Florida; 15 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; her loving caregivers, Nicole LeBeau, granddaughter, and Brennan Houran, great-grandson; as well as nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her daughter, Karen Choquette in 1967; her brother, Charles LePage; and her son-in-law, John Gwozdz.

Funeral notice: A Liturgy of Christian Burial for Ruth Choquette will be celebrated Friday, June 3, 2016, at 11 a.m. at St. Elizabeth of Hungary Church. Burial will follow in Clarksburg Cemetery.  

Calling hours will be Thursday, June 2, from 4-7 p.m. at Flynn & Dagnoli-Montagna Home for Funerals, West Chapels, 521 Main St., North Adams. Memorial donations may be made to the Western MA Alzheimer's Association through the funeral home.
