Edward P. Jamros Sr., 77

ADAMS, Mass. — Mr. Edward P. Jamros Sr., 77, of Adams died early Tuesday morning, June 28, 2016, at his home.

He was born in Adams on August 22, 1938, son of the late Peter and Yvonne (Royal) Jamros. He attended Adams schools, and graduated from the former Adams High School.

Ed served with the United States Marine Corps from 1955 until his Honorable Discharge in 1957, and then enlisted in the United States Air Force, serving from 1957 until his Honorable Discharge in 1960.

He worked as an electrician at Union Carbide Corp. and its successor, Eveready Battery Co. in Bennington, Vt., for 22 years, until retiring. Earlier, he had worked for the former Sprague Electric Co. in North Adams, and GEM Electric in Adams.

He was a former member and instructor at the Adams Turners, and was a former member of the Mountain Club in Adams. He enjoyed computers, collecting military memorabilia, and antiquing.

His wife, the former Nancy T. Wnuk, whom he married on October 20, 1962, died on February 12, 2011.

He is survived by a daughter, Terri Jamros, of North Weymouth, Mass.; a son, Edward P. Jamros Jr. and his wife Lisa  of Pittsfield;
three grandchildren, Sarah, Jacob and Rachael Jamros; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral notice: Funeral services and burial will be private. There are no calling hours.

Memorial donations may be made to any charity of the donor's choice. The Paciorek Funeral Home, Adams, is in charge of arrangements.
