Charles E. Poulton Sr., 71

CHESHIRE, Mass. — Mr. Charles E. Poulton Sr., 71, of 3 Third Ave. died Wednesday afternoon, June 29, 2016, at Hillcrest Commons in Pittsfield.

He was born in Pittsfield on October 22, 1944, a son of the late James and Virginia (Cullett) Poulton. He attended Pittsfield schools and graduated from Pittsfield High School with the Class of 1962.

Mr. Poulton worked in the Power Transformer division of General Electric Co. in Pittsfield from 1966 until retiring as an inspector in 2002, after 36 years of service.

He attended St. Mary of the Assumption Church, Cheshire. He was a member of the General Electric Quarter Century and Pensioner's Clubs, and was a member of the Mountain Club in Adams.
He enjoyed trips to the casinos and dog racing tracks, but especially enjoyed spending time with his family.

His wife, the former Angelina M. Burzimati, whom he married on June 20, 1964, died on October 16, 2014.

He is survived by a daughter, Lisa Rice, and her husband Tracy of Windsor, Mass.; a son, Charles E. Poulton Jr. and his wife, Donna of Cheshire; three grandchildren, Kelsey and Sean Rice and Rebecca Poulton; three brothers, James Poulton Jr. and his wife Donna of Pittsfield, Robert Poulton and his companion, Liz, of Hinsdale, Mass., and Bruce Poulton and his wife Betty Jo of Cheshire; three sisters, Beverly McGovern of Adams; Eleanor Bean of Becket, and Bonnie Fachini and her husband Robert of Cheshire; as well as several nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.

Funeral notice: Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, July 6, at noon in the Paciorek Funeral Home, 13 Hoosac St., Adams. The Rev. Steven Montesanti, Pastor of the Parish of St. John Paul II, Adams, will officiate. Burial will follow in Cheshire Cemetery.

Calling hours are Tuesday, July 5, from 4 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made to HospiceCare in the Berkshires, 877 South St. Pittsfield, MA 01201.
